Cost Engineer/Accountant

 

Brayman Construction Corp. is a nationally recognized provider of complex heavy/civil, demolition, geotechnical, foundation,marine, and steel construction capabilities. Located in Saxonburg, PA we currently seek a Cost Accounting Engineer/Accountant for our corporate headquarters. Position is full time with above average salary, bonus, benefits, 401k etc. as well as advancement possibility. We seek an individual with the following skills:

 

 

 

Job Costing Responsibilites- for assigned projectsReceive weekly package from job site for assigned project.  Organize and distribute incoming paperwork from jobs, such as delivery tickets (check coding), tool box talks, safety meetings, crane/drill inspection reports, etc. Review foreman reports for proper coding for labor.  Enter as built information onto tracking spreadsheets. Enter production units into Timberline on a weekly basis. After payroll is closed, run cost reports and prepare weekly package.  Update recap sheet to reflect current costs, manhours and billings for the project.  Provide accurate analysis on potential impacts to the job.  Ie; costs overruns for savings, quantity variances, material variances, etc. Distribute weekly jobcost package by Thursday after the end of the week. Prepare change orders for extra work to be sent to client. Prepare and enter internal change orders into Timberline to record approved changes to the project. Create and prepare invoices to the client in accordance with the contract agreement for the project.   Invoices to be prepared and sent in by due date. Enter client billings into Timberline.  Ensure that invoices are entered accurately. Monitor payments from the clients and call when payments are past due. Follow up on the issuance of change orders from the client. Be aware of dates for release of retention and prepare necessary documents when required.  Releases, waivers, retention invoices, release of surety, etc. Prepare job budgets from the HCSS estimates and enter into Timberline. Enter jobs into Timberline with accurate information. Prepare and distribute job notification sheet Update submittal logs for the job. File all job related paperwork.  Maintain job file in neat and orderly fashion so that files and information are easily accessible. Pull and copy invoices as required for claims, change orders, extra work, etc. Upon assignment of job number set up job number on the p drive and move bid file over to the job file.  Set up other folders under job number on p drive. Be familiar with the terms of the contract agreement with the client regarding invoicing instructions, retention payments, change order procedures, etc. Be familiar with basic work procedures and scope of work and the schedule. Assist with contract review and negotiations.  Ensure that contract is approved prior to mobilization to the job Approve all invoices for each assigned project verifying that backup up and purchase order agree with invoice.  Resolve any discrepancies with the vendors. Update production in Timberline for material quantities. Issue purchase orders as requested by Project Manager or others. Issue subcontract agreements as requested by Project Manager or others. Complete paperwork and track amounts for any DBE/WBE commitments on the projects. Comply with any small business concern requirements. Advise other departments on paperwork or filing requirements for EEO,  labor compliance reports, etc. Comply with any OCIP procedures and advise others of any special reporting requirements. Assist with preparing job site bulletin board and related postings when appropriate.

 

Salary for this position varies with the level of competency and knowledge.
