DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES - SMALL COMMUNITY HOSPITAL WITHIN LARGE SYSTEM!

Job Description:

Saint Anne’s Hospital, a 160 bed, 100 year old community-based hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts, is committed to providing high-quality health care, research, education, and innovation. St. Anne’s Hospital, a 300,000 square foot facility, combined with a few off site locations, is seeking a highly qualified Director of Facilities to manage physical plant operations activities, including maintenance of buildings and grounds, environmental services, telecommunications, power plant operations, construction and renovations. Reporting to the COO, with a dotted line report to the Systems Director of Facilities, you will ensure a clean and chemical-free environment, and will assess the current building’s structure and infrastructure to determine appropriate structural functions and operations across departments within the hospital. Prepare for and manage JCAHO audits. You will oversee renovations and new construction projects, including but not limited to a New Cancer Center, New Linear Accelerator, Pain Management Program, Upgrades to the Operating Room and Emergency Department, etc…, while managing a staff of approximately fifteen. This is a leadership role where you will be charged with identifying and performing constant upgrades to the facilities. Key Initiatives:

  Maintain and enhance patient and staff safety, through adhering to and improving environmental care and JCAHO standards.

 

  Oversee significant renovation and new construction projects, including a linear accelerator, new cancer center, pain management program, upgrades to the Operating Room and to the Emergency Department.

 

  Respond to Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA) issues, particularly that, surrounding a clean and chemical-free environment.

 

  Provide and perform continual maintenance of the building, as well as preventative maintenance, and assess and analyze the building’s current structure and infrastructure to determine appropriate future operational functions and changes.

 

  Manage and develop a team of ~15 staff, and collaborate and communicate with other departments, as appropriate.

  - Develop, maintain and manage budgets, and perform other projects as assigned by the COO and the System Director of Facilities.

 

Experience and Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required

 

  Experience as a healthcare leader within facilities or plant operations

 

  Must have a thorough knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Codes and JCAHO Standards, as well as Building Codes and Mechanical Trades. Electrical License is preferred.

 

  Must be computer literate

 

  Excellent communication skills, and a team-player

 

- Good problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills
