Demolition Project Manager / Project Engineer

Have you ever intentionally torn down a major building or structure?

 

Are you a practical, degreed, or licensed engineer?

 

Do you have major project management experience?

 

If the answer is yes to most or all of these questions then Nuprecon, L.P. would like to talk with you.  We are creating a long term presence in the LA area.  Nuprecon is currently working on a demolition contract at LAX and we have subsequent projects in the planning stages.  We are looking for experience project management professionals to join our company and be all-star players on our California team. 

 

Nuprecon, L.P. is one of the largest non-explosive demolition contractors in the United States. With a history of steady expansion we are continuing to grow both locally and nationally with offices in Snoqualmie, Seattle, Portland and Honolulu. Nuprecon performs a wide range of interesting and challenging pre-construction projects. Specialties include: total building removal, interior strip and gut, concrete saw cutting, core drilling and hazardous materials removal projects.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Gather all job start up information including the asbestos survey letter or “Good-Faith” letter.

2. Schedule the pre-construction meeting with the General Contractor and Nuprecon Project Team.

3. Attend pre-construction meeting with General Contractor.

4. Secure subcontractor sources as required.

5. Complete paperwork required by General Contractor (i.e. demo plan).

6. Develop job schedule, create Schedule of Values, provide Administrative Assistant with information to be input into job cost system.

7. Determine manpower, equipment, subcontractor and material requirements as well as outline the project schedule, discuss the scope of work and review the construction documents with the Field Supervisor at the pre-construction walk-through.

8. Problem solve with Field Supervisor and Field Operations Manager and clarify any areas in question.

9. Track and document all extra work in accordance with company policy and procedures.

10. Provide project completion percentages for billing on monthly basis.

11. Review weekly job costs and production numbers.

12. Provide accurate forecasts for sales and gross profit, on a weekly basis, for projects assigned to you.

13. Perform project close out including final paperwork, job walk and follow up with the General Contractor.

14. Accept primary responsibility for project account receivables.

15. Develop strong customer (internal/external) relationships.

16. Attend professional organizational meetings to promote our company's services.

17. Attend weekly Project Manager’s meeting.

18. Actively participate in training opportunities & relate relevant information to the rest of corporate team. Participate in industry associations.

19. Special projects as assigned by the Director of Project Management.

 

Qualifications:

1. Five years experience in construction management to include estimating and project management.

2. Proven skills or aptitude with Microsoft computer software programs, especially Excel and MS Project.

3. Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment.

4. Must be willing to adjust schedule as required by workload..

5. Proven ability to independently manage own time and workload.

6. College degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field is desired.
