Department Manager (Construction Materials Testing) ENGINEERING YOUR CAREER SUCCESS THE JOB—WHAT IT IS:As a CMT Department Manager with Terracon you will be responsible for managing the Construction Materials Testing Department. Duties will include engineering analysis, report preparation, foundation inspection, and supervising field/laboratory testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and structural steel. The Seattle-area offices have a heavy work load of geotechnical special inspection. The ideal candidate will manage these projects while expanding into WABO special inspection and construction materials testing. This position can be based in Lynnwood, Bellevue, or Tacoma, depending on the candidate.THE PERSON—WHAT IT TAKES:A Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field is preferred. You must have 5 to 6 years experience in construction materials engineering, construction inspection, materials testing and/or construction management. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet; analytical and problem solving ability; demonstrated written and verbal communications skills; and demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate projects are required. You must have a valid drivers license. Familiarity with clients, projects, and/or geology in Puget Sound area is a plus.
