Design Build Construction/Safety Manager: 8-10 Week Project Assignment

Location: Fort Wayne, IN Tetra Tech is a leading provider of innovative engineering, consulting and technical services. About your role… You will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating an 8-10 week project for a major automotive client just outside Fort Wayne, IN OR Fairfax, KS. This project assignment involves: Managing and administering job site safety Maintaining MSDS’s and copies of serious and near miss incidents, injury reports, and OSHA log of occupation injuries and illnesses Organizing and documenting employee sign-in sheets, on-site training and meetings Driving construction schedule activities for this design build project Leading and coordinating contractors through implementation of multiple controls upgrades including new installations and retrofits Reviewing and managing controls retrofits including installation, startup and commissioning activities Reviewing electrical schematics and verifying proper on-site installation Leading resolution of questions and/or concerns through the construction process Working with Tetra Tech’s engineering team to resolve items discovered during construction Working with the Plant personnel to coordinate day to day construction activities minimize disruptions Creating minutes and status reports for safety and/or progress meetings and events Maintaining punch lists and status of implementation

What kind of candidate are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone who is familiar with automotive company protocols and standards for outside contractors, as well as familiarity with Health & Safety Administration related to the nature of work being performed in an automotive Powerhouse Plant. Specifically, we are looking for someone who can lead and drive the construction activities and coordination for a controls upgrades project. To do so you shall have familiarity of electrical equipment, controls devices, and capability of reading electrical prints. An understanding of industrial electrical installation practices and procedures is also important. We’re looking for someone who can be committed to this short-term assignment for roughly 8-10 hour days for 8-10 weeks. Preference will be given to candidates who possess an Engineering Degree.
