Ransome CAT, local Caterpillar dealer and one of the largest family owned companies in the Philadelphia area, operates out of 13 convenient locations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

 

The products we represent are used in everything from road and building construction to providing electrical power.  

 

Ransome CAT is seeking an experienced Outside Diesel Sales Rep for its Perkins Power Northeast division.  Selected candidate will be based from their home office, ideally located in eastern NY, CT, RI, MA, NH or VT.  Perkins Power Northeast is the exclusive Master Distributor for Perkins diesel engines and parts in the Northeastern U.S.  Position will be responsible for sales of Perkins diesels to new and existing OEM’s and end customers in the territory.  Prior experience in sales of diesel engines to the industrial market desired, along with 2-4 year college degree.  Position offers base salary and commission.  

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Work-up OEM and retail quotes to customer specs

 

• Make sales calls as required to industrial OEM's and retail customers

 

• Provide project management oversight for complex projects. 

 

• Field initial calls and requests from OEM and retail customers pertaining to commercial, engineering, service and warranty issues.

 

• Assist with factory communications as required by obtaining technical information and resolving

problems, etc.

 

• Set engine pricing for OEM's  and retail customers taking into consideration sales profitability goals and competitive situation.

 

• Provide informed advice on application and engineering questions when requested by customer. 

 

Skills Required:

 

• Two years industrial or mechanical sales/engineering/application experience.

 

• Two year college degree.

 

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.

 

• Basic computer skills - Windows, MS Office, etc. 

 

• Basic engine knowledge.

 

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

 

• Five years engine sales application experience DESIRED.

 

• Four year college degree DESIRED.
