Director of Operations - Construction

Entrepreneurial, growing, reputable General Contractor specializing in commercial remodeling, redesign and reconstruction has an immediate opportunity for a Director of Operations. The steady, rapid growth of our company has created the need to hire someone who can step in and immediately lead the functional areas of the organization. The successful candidate will have strong leadership abilities, detailed oriented, a passion for timeliness and excellence, and the ability to communicate to all levels in an organization. The opportunity to invest and co-lead a subsidiary company may be available with the ability to earn a significant return on the investment and/or ownership. Ten (10) plus years experience in commercial and/or institutional construction and five (5) plus years of verifiable excellent management skills may qualify you for this opportunity.  This position reports directly to the President.

 

Essential Qualifications:

 Bachelor degree in Construction Management or related discipline is desired;Ten (10) years experience in commercial, industrial and/or institutional construction with verifiable leadership responsibilities;Functional experience with strategic and operational planning, human capital management, production methods, safety and security compliance requirements;Experience in managing projects at or below budget through subordinate personnel;Entrepreneurial spirit to potentially make an investment in your abilities;Demonstrated ability to effectively manage project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, craftsman and vendors;Verifiable success at forecasting material, equipment and manpower;Self-Motivated with the desire to function independently while working closely with the President on the achievement of the corporate mission;A passion for quality, timely work within budgeted guidelines. 

Essential Functions:

 Provide leadership and direction to all functional areas of the organization to ensure bottom line profitability of the company; Ability to assume total responsibility from receipt of the budget and signed contract through to completion and final payment on all projects;Assume responsibility for owner relationships to ensure that the highest level of satisfaction is achieved through fair and equitable treatment of all participants;Effectively manage and schedule all subordinates to complete all projects on-time and within budget;Insure that all projects meet the high quality standards required by our company;Responsible for continuously monitoring profitability of jobs;As an investor in a subsidiary, you would have the opportunity to assist in directing  the financial planning and management processes;Verifiable ability to write reports, business correspondence and effectively communicate with all levels within the organization;Management by example with the ability to solve practical problems;Professional aptitude to attend management/owner meetings and interact with financial institutions, customers, employees, vendors and project team members;Ensure that strict safety standards are followed at all times.
