Job Description McGraw-Hill Construction, a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies, connects people, projects and products across the design and construction industry. This position is responsible for the leadership, development, strategic direction and management of the Regional Publications and Dodge Workflow Solutions directed at the construction industry in a specific assigned region. This operation involves all normal disciplines of the publishing environment, including advertising, sales, production, editorial, circulation and administration and is also responsible for providing leadership, development, strategic direction and management of assigned Account Managers, Account Representatives, and administrative support personnel assigned to the Region to maximize revenue and achieve plan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:· Responsible for managing existing publications in assigned region as well as implementing successful advertising products into the construction marketplace to take advantage of market trends. This includes conceptualizing and executing business plans for new products and expanding customer base to achieve acceptable revenue and income growth.· Accountable for producing time-sensitive, editorially accurate publications to the market. This demands effective execution of production systems and technologies, along with good problem solving skills and expertise in designing and managing production operations.· Must be innovative and resourceful to create new business opportunities. This includes implementing successful publications into new markets and conceptualizing and executing business plans that achieve acceptable revenue and income growth. · Recruit, hire and coach a diverse workforce to meet editorial and production needs and sales goals. · Provide accurate monthly forecasts. Be directly involved in the sales forces’ pursuit of key-targeted accounts, from participating in presentation to ensuring that appropriate account/prospect strategies are established and implemented. College degree or equivalent work experience, preferable with graduate school. Experience in consumer publishing. Must understand the sales and marketing needs of customers and prospect’s. A clear understanding of the benefits that MHC products provide to customers and prospects is essential. An excellent understanding of the industry Must be able to clearly communicate the needs of Dodge’s Major Accounts clients and prospect to Sales Management, Marketing, and Product so that Dodge Management has a clear understanding of what is happening in the field and can develop business plans accordingly. Strong understanding of business principals including financial planning, analysis, budgeting, expense controls, staffing and employee management. Must demonstrate strong sales abilities and training techniques in order to assemble effective sales organization Highly effective oral and written communication skills. Familiarity with magazine production techniques to be successful in the production requirement of the job.
