EPG PROJECT MANAGER


Michigan CAT, a premier distributor of Caterpillar construction equipment and engines, currently is seeking an Electric Power Generator Project Manager at the Power Systems Division in Novi, Michigan.  With over sixty-five years of continuous service to the construction industry, Michigan CAT continues to lead equipment distribution throughout Michigan.

The EPG Project Manager provides project management, engineering, and systems integration services to customers, sales personnel, and Caterpillar manufacturing representatives, among others.  This position also assists with the quoting, sale, application and installation of electrical power generators, automatic transfer switches and paralleling switchgear.  Specific responsibilities include the following:

Provide engineering, AutoCAD, and design services for electrical power generators, automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear and all ancillary equipment. Work with sales representatives to ensure that all orders are technically correct.  Resolve technical situations before, during and after the sale. Create original job submittal material, interpret specifications, create bill of materials, and review sales quotas. Write purchase orders, place orders, and review order acknowledgment for accuracy. Provide on-site direction during delivery, onsite integration of components during installation with contractors, onsite direction of field service personnel during start up/commissioning Provide information and follow through on the resolution of customer inquiries. Daily correspondence with customers, management, sales, technicians, parts, engineers, contractors, other CAT dealers, Caterpillar manufacturing representatives, and industry contacts.


Applicants should possess the following requirements:
Minimum 3 years of project management experience, preferably in the diesel engine/electrical power generator business. Bachelor Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or closely related field. Ability to utilize computerized information systems, AutoCAD, and other engineering programs. Ability to successfully manage a variety of complex and technical tasks and projects. Excellent communication and organization skills.
