About the Company Newman Construction Company has been in business for sixty-four years. The business started with William P. Newman in 1932. Bill Newman started out hauling coal and performing fill jobs. In 1942 bill newman worked on the Wendover Air Base as General Contractor. From 1942-1974, Bill Newman worked on various jobs as the general, and some mining at the Bingham Canyon, Moab and Alta Mines. In 1974 William J.(Jeff)Newman came on board and worked several projects such as the Dam at White Pine, Little Cottonwood, demolition projects at American Oil, and Kennecott Smelter, Dirt work at Glen Canyon Dam. In 1980, William M.(Mark) Newman came aboard to continue in the footsteps of his grandfather and father. He has continued in the sewer, water, storm drain & irrigation projects. Newman construction is a progressive company continuing in site excavations for AT&T, Pacific Corp, and other steel and concrete bridges and road and dredging projects in Utah, Wyoming and other states. Help NEWMAN CONSTRUCTION succeed by doing your part as a(n) Construction Worker who works on assorted construction projects; performs tasks involving physical labor at building, highway, and heavy construction projects, tunnel and shaft excavations, and demolition sites; operates hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments; cleans and prepares sites, dig trenches, sets braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove asbestos, lead, and other hazardous waste materials.

Qualifications

Handles safely, skillfully equipment used in trenching, pipe laying, road building, ponds, irrigation & gas lines.

Experience analyzing complex functions, procedures, and problems to find creative, logical, and effective solutions.

Handles work of diverse scope and complexity.

Speaks clearly and effectively in a variety of settings.

Knowledge of ADA requirements and how they affect construction, electrical, and safety regulations.

Committed to meeting quality standards.

Plans work. Sets goals and outlines tasks to achieve them.

Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines.
