ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING FIRM HAS ENTRY LEVEL POSITION

 

 

Position Title:  Environmental Technician 

Assignment:  Resident Project Representative

Assignment Summary:  Provides on-site inspection of hazard abatement projects.

Starting Salary:Negotiable depending on education and experience.

Typical Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Inspects hazard abatement work for compliance with contract documents

2. Provides expert knowledge of particular project contract documents

3. Provides interpretations of contract documents making judgments about 
compliance:

  a. cites specific passages pertaining to field problems

  b. adjudicates disputes using project manual

  c. gives reasoned and consistent interpretations

  d. stays within the province of the project manual

 4. Conducts necessary tests to monitor abatement work practices, 
which include:

a. air, surface and bulk sampling as required by the project manual

  b. negative pressure and air exchange tests

  c. personnel protection monitoring

  d. abatement equipment monitoring

 5. Documents project activities:

a. proper and timely completion of documentation forms

  b. comprehensive, accurate and relevant project log

  c. comprehensive and accurate project meeting minutes

  d. timely memoranda

 6. Administers assigned project tasks

 7. Provides information for project close-out as directed by supervisor

 8. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

 Employment Requirements:  Must have good communication skills, work well independently, able to do some traveling in Ohio, be a non-smoker and be familiar with building construction; associate degree preferred.
