Estimating Construction Manager

This is a very exciting opportunity for experienced and motivated individuals to utilize the full scope of skills and become a valuable part of the success a of reputable, stable and growing GC/CM firm. The position entails overseeing the entire bidding process for all competitive and negotiated bids that our Company will be involved with. Our Company prepares competitive bids for construction projects with values that range from $500,000 to $25,000,000. The candidate will be expected to coordinate the preparation of 1 bid per week.

Our company uses “MC2 ICE 2000” estimating software, “On Screen Take Off” take-off software and “Invitation to Bid” bid management and faxing software. The candidate will be required to set up and oversee ALL bid projects in these software packages and MUST have experience in the use of these software packages.

The candidate will oversee a small 2-person staff and will have access to unlimited off site estimators. The candidate will be supported by five (5) administrative employees from our Sales & Marketing & General Office Administration departments. 

The candidate must be highly skilled in the use computers operating in the Windows environment and MUST be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook. The candidate MUST have EXPERT ability the reading & understanding of construction drawings, specifications and bid documents.

The candidate MUST have a minimum of 5 years experience in commercial construction and must be well versed in construction management

In addition, the position demands experience in contract administration, project management, scheduling, telephone communications and writing.

Transfer take-offs & pricing data into ICE 2000.  Set up & manage projects in Invitation to BidSet up & manage projects in On Screen Take OffOrganize & update Windows electronic files and folders for all bid projectsOrganize & oversee bid stations to include the labeling, maintenance & control of drawings, specifications & bid documentsUse “Invitation to Bid” to send requests for pricing to subcontractors and vendorsManage, update & increase “Invitation to Bid” database of qualified subcontractors & vendorsMeet with vendors and subcontractors to review bid requirements, drawings & specsFollow up with vendors & subcontractors in order to obtain timely pricingConduct pre-estimate and bid review staff meetings as requiredAttend Owner pre-bid meetings as requiredImplement ICE 2000 BID DAY software to track subcontractor & vendor pricing and to aide in bid day pricing strategiesAide & assist in the preparation of bid forms and final pricingDeliver & submit bid proposals as requiredFollow up on the status of pending bidsPrepare post-bid analysis and conduct post-bid evaluation staff meetings for ALL bidsUse ICE 2000 Bid Sheet to track past or lost bids.
