CITY/STATE: Denver, COPOSITION TYPE: Full Time, EmployeeJOB CATEGORY: Project/Program ManagementEDUCATION LEVEL: Bachelor's DegreeSALARY: 60,000.00 - 80,000.00 USD /yearDiscetionary BonusesREFERENCE CODE: Estimator- Commercial Build Estimator- General Contractor Commercial Build POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: Prepare proposal estimates (bids) for construction projects.   PRIMARY DUTIES: ·  Possess strong knowledge in material and equipment specifications and project specifications, and all aspects of performing estimates on major projects in its market·  Use Quick Pen Auto Bid & Estimating software to perform quantified take-offs ·  Review RFP’s, Specifications, Basis of Design and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate ·  Gain or have the knowledge and ability to perform drawing redlines ·  Solicit subcontractor bids and vendor quotes ·  Assemble estimating spreadsheets ·  Accurately and timely estimates projects at all levels of difficulty.  Flags potential problem areas on a job·  Updates and interprets historical data to provide more accurate estimates·  Generate reports and interpret them for Project Review.  Generate equipment sheets and general labor analysis·  Present bids and explain job completely and clearly to Owners, Project Executives and Project Managers ·  Train new estimators in department.  Continuously builds knowledge and skills and shares expertise with others  CORE COMPTANCIES:· Must have the skills to collect and research data and has the ability to use intuition and experience to design work flows and procedures· Ability to translate concepts and information into images; Uses feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles · Must have attention to detail and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness in their work  §  Must have working knowledge of Design software; Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software. § Problem Solving Skills.  § Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.  § Able to gather and analyze information skillfully to develop alternative solutions.  Resourceful and displays original thinking and creativity.  §   Customer Service Skills.  Responds promptly to customer needs and meets commitments.  Solicits customer feedback to improve service.   EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: · Degree from a four-year college, trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.  · 5+ Years experience in similar construction estimating and/or related functions.
