Pacific States Environmental Contractors, Inc., is an environmental consulting and construction company founded to serve the western United States with comprehensive environmental services located in the Bay Area and Southern California.  Its team consists of construction professionals with expertise in environmental material processing, mining, heavy and light construction along with strong project management skills.

 

Pacific States Environmental Contractors, Inc., is currently seeking a professional Geologist & Sr. Geologist to support our current large backlog of work and our projected growth in 2008 and 2009.

 

Geologist
Responsibilities:

Project field and office support for Site Assessment and Remediation Projects and will be reporting to a California Professional Geologist (PG). Must be willing to perform field sampling activities and become proficient with field instrumentation and equipment. Candidates will work on interesting, fast-paced projects with the opportunity to learn and expand skills. Analytical data analysis, report preparation, evaluation of alternatives, and data summaries will be required. Field sampling for soil, soil vapor and groundwater is required in a variety of environmental settings. Must be willing to learn and become proficient in project management skills. Some chemistry knowledge is a huge plus.

 

Requirements:

B.S. in Geology, Geological Sciences or Hydrogeology with broad coursework in the sciences and 4+ years of experience in the environmental consulting business. Ability and eagerness to perform field activities and work under the direction of a senior geologist and PG. Must have Valid California driver’s license and excellent verbal and written communication skills. OSHA Hazwoper Certification (or ability to be certified).

Senior Geologist
Responsibilities:

Provide senior level project geology/hydrogeology assistance for site assessment, remediation, expert witness, and litigation projects. May manage technical groups of professionals in local, State, and federal regulatory interactions.

 

Requirements: California Professional Geologist license (PG). B.S. in Geology, Geological Sciences or Hydrogeology with 10 years experience in the geology/hydrogeology consulting practice. Strong technical skills in groundwater assessments, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans. Ability to work at a senior level and mentor other staff. Ability to describe and document complex geological and hydro geological phenomenon. Strong project management and client skills required.
