Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical LoggerTHE JOB—WHAT IT IS:As a Geologist with Terracon your primary responsibilities will include organizing and assembling resources required for a geologic investigation project, including but not limited to, staking project site, obtaining needed licenses and signatures, scheduling drillers, coordinating utility clearances, and overseeing any special conditions needed to proceed with the project. Duties will also include logging soil samples during drilling, performing field activities such as mapping, and performing other tasks as assigned. Construction monitoring may be required as a prt of the engineering geologist job description.THE PERSON—WHAT IT TAKES:A degree in Geology plus 2 years experience is required, and preference will be given to Puget Sound area experience or glacial geology background. You must be able to work independently and communicate effectively with landowners, clients, drillers, and other staff members. In this position overnight, out-of-town travel is required, and can be for extended periods.
