Human Resources Coordinator

Schuff Steel Company, the nation's leader in the fabrication and erection of structural steel, is currently recruiting for a Human Resources Coordinator for our plant located in Bellemont, Arizona.  GENERAL PURPOSE AND PRIMARY DUTY:

Performs tasks related to recruiting and hiring union and non-union personnel.  Includes prescreening, interviewing and coordinating necessary pre-hire tests.  Maintains open communication with shop foreman, department managers and other department heads to maintain current and future hiring needs.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Employment coordinator conducts searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria using various methods such as Internet, media, cold calls, recruiting agencies, employee referrals and networking.  Screens applications and arranges interviews for qualified applicants.  Conducts reference checks and employment verification on selected applicants.  Arranges skill tests and drug tests for selected applicants.  Completes employment verification inquiries.  Places ads in local and out-of-state publications including Internet job board.  Maintains open communication with department heads to stay abreast of company hiring needs.  Maintains current knowledge of pertinent employment laws such as EEO, ADA, FLSA and EPA.  Advises management on organizing, preparing and implementing recruiting and retention programs. Conducts new hire orientations and safety orientations.  Maintains employee personnel files and I-9 files.  Administers E-Verify.

 

Experience, Education & Training:

High school diploma/general equivalency diploma (GED) and one to four years of directly related experience required.  Or, Bachelors of Science in Human Resource, Business Administration, Business Management or a closely related field and one year of related experience.
