Inside Sales

Welding supply firm is looking for two qualified people to function as Counter Sales/Inside Sales Persons at its Tacoma and Auburn locations, selling products to business and industrial establishments or individuals, at the counter or over the telephone.

Job Description:
* Assists customers in the store and/or on the telephone, answering questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise, including product demos to qualified customers on request.; obtains price and availability for quotes and special orders. Creates computer quotes for customers.
* Generates a computer invoice on merchandise purchased by customer and verifies correct product goes with corresponding paperwork.
* Accepts payment, ROA’s, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
* Estimates dates of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s delivery schedules; schedules deliveries for call-ins and hotshots and assists route drivers with hotshots and rush orders.
* Re-stocks shelves, counters and display/tables with merchandise. Helps keep the store, warehouse and the will call area clean.
* Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise and equipment throughout store to promote sales.
* Maintains and updates counter catalogs and price lists, and maintains literature racks and reorders as needed.
* Pulls and generates orders for Sales Department and assist them when needed.
*Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
* Advises purchasing when inventory is low or has a discrepancy, sales department of leads or out of the ordinary customer activity, and credit department on credit limits or credit problems.
* Performs other duties as directed by supervisor and as needed.

Hours / Days / Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Mon. - Fri., with some Sat. overtime.

Job Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED.
* Three to six months of experience in equivalent positions, such as parts counter clerk; hardware or home improvement store clerk; inside sales person, etc.
* Physical capacity to perform the job; this is a physical job, involving lifting and carrying merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 100 lbs frequently.
* Forklift operation; certification preferred, but will train.
* General PC competence;
* Good basic math skills, including inventory assistance and money handling.
* Pass pre-employment drug screen, criminal background & reference checks.
