Integrated Controls Technician HVAC I

Description:

After a supervised training period you will be required to have the ability to start up and calibrate a BACnet or Infinet II integrated HVAC control system.





Tasks Include:

1.      Field commission an integrated control system for new construction, retrofit, site upgrade, or system expansion.

2.      Review job with the project manager.

3.      Verify system can support and is compatible with new project design.

4.      Verify installation is correct and complete per design.

5.      Troubleshoot communication networks as needed.

6.      Troubleshoot low voltage control circuits and current loops as needed.

7.      Repair or replace sensors, actuators, and controllers.

8.      Calibrate field devices and fill out proper documentation.

9.      Complete all As-Built paper work.

 

Background skills that would be helpful:

1.      Electronic circuit design or theory.

2.      Networks hardware and layout.

3.      Windows operating systems.

4.      Microsoft office applications.

5.      Wireless communications.

6.      RS232 and RS485 hardware level communications.

7.      HVAC equipment.

8.      Commercial lighting.

9.      Experience with BMS (DDC) Control systems.  Experience with Andover Controls or Johnson Controls a plus.

10.  Card access system installation.

 

Must be able to:

1.      Drive a company vehicle (need a valid California Driver’s License). 

2.      Pass drug test and background check.

3.      Climb ladders and operate lifts.

4.      Understand the environments you are working in.

5.      Follow safety requirements.

6.      Supervise fellow employees and subcontractors.

7.      Suggest improvements to current procedures.

8.      Participate in rotating on call schedule.

9.      Communicate openly and regularly via email, phone, voicemails, and job reports to Branch Manager and team to update on tasks.

10.  Detailed-oriented, self-starter.

11.  Focus on customer service.

12.  Willingly to travel to customer sites within specified areas in Northern and Southern California

13.  Ability to work well independently as well as part of a service-oriented team.

14.  Work with a positive and willing attitude. Able to work with supervisor and other team members in a supportive manner.

15.  Communicate proficiently in English. Verbal and written.

16.  Prioritize multiple tasks based on urgency and business impact.

17.  Follow procedures.

18.  Create and maintain documentation.

19.  Perform other duties as directed.
