Building Construction/Skilled Trades Job Description In this position, you will be responsible for the engineering and design of mechanical systems for multiple projects of varying complexity. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Working includes taking various levels of responsibility for, and participation in the development of, project scope, budget, and schedule - Providing technical direction to outside A&E firms throughout the project design phase, interface with site user groups, other engineering disciplines, local municipalities and/or utilities, trade contractors, and other project stakeholders - Ensuring that the work is being performed to Intel policies and expectations - Responsible for the development of effective mechanical design deliverables to support all aspects of construction - Supporting RFP development for all external consultants and contract work required to develop the required engineering and design deliverables to ensure mechanical deliverables are accounted for in RFP - Responsible for the management of mechanical discipline leads (external contract workforce) contracted to develop the required engineering and design deliverables - Effectively interacting with several internal engineering organizations to influence design standards, construction specifications, and operations requirements to ensure these enable construction to meet its success metrics - Performing conceptual mechanical engineering analysis for multiple scenarios that can include high level schedule and/or budget development to help customers and stakeholders make critical business decisions based on time and cost constraints - Developing and implementing effective safety by design practices into all aspects of the Intel's business Qualifications You should possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. Additional qualifications include: - Good written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and working knowledge of office personal computer applications - Ability to develop and implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules - Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents - Familiarity with design and sizing methods for mechanical systems (MAHs, Scrubbers, Chillers, and others) - Basic knowledge and/or understanding of control methods for mechanical and/or process systems - Ability to interface with a multi-user customer base - Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity - Proven track record of managing the mechanical engineering and design of large complex technical facilities and equipment installation construction projects in high tech industries, preferably semiconductor - Strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering and ability to provide tactical direction to a large engineering team, both direct and matrix report - Ability to effectively communicate technical engineering and design information and solutions to a wide audience of stakeholders such as manufacturing customers, Technology Development, Project Managers, Construction Managers and contractors - Experience managing design of clean room HVAC, hydronics, plumbing, and fire protection systems - Experience in design and construction of mechanical and process systems would be an added advantage - Familiarity with cleanroom mechanical system engineering would be an added advantage - Experience with construction, startup, and turnover of facilities mechanical systems would be an added advantage - Willingness for extensive relocation would be an added advantage.
