Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.CH2M HILL is looking for a dynamic person to join the firm as a Lead Mechanical Inspector with 15 plus years of Mechanical inspection experience supporting  the construction of Wastewater Facilities and/or pumping stations in the construction industry for our New York City, NY office.Responsibilities will include providing Lead Mechanical Inspector support for the construction of wastewater facilities, pumping stations, and related projects for Construction Management team overseeing construction of a 1.3 billion dollar Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility for the City of New York water system. The job responsibilities will include performing a broad cross-section of complex technical and administrative activities requiring extensive experience and specialization in Contract Compliance, Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) inspection of mechanical processes and related construction work; analyzing applicable codes, standards and project contract documents and monitors construction activities to ensure compliance with contract documents; interpreting or clarifying contract documents for Contractors; maintaining or preparing a variety of records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders and record drawings; reviewing new projects for constructibility, preparing monthly progress payment quantities/requests; performing and/or evaluating tests and inspections, and other methods of verification as specified; monitoring contractors' compliance with approved Quality Control Plan; making recommendations for improvements to standard construction QC provisions as they apply in the field; assuring compliance with approved submittals.CH2M HILL will not sponsor an employment visa to fill this position.***Please note that this position is a Project Hire expected to last approximately 5 Years***Qualifications10 years of MECHANICAL inspection or Apprentice/Journeyman experience in construction. Experience documenting installation of work and contractor's performance. Experience in Wastewater Facilities and/or pumping stations in the construction industry.Experience with American National Standards Institute,(ANSI) American Concrete Institute, (ACI) American Welding Society, (AWS), and other applicable codes. A valid New York State driver's license is required.High School/GEDEffective oral and written communication skills.  Must know how to use Microsoft suite of products.Drug test and background check are required.In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate would meet the following preferred qualifications:10-15 + years of MECHANICAL inspection or Apprentice/Journeyman experience in construction. Experience documenting installation of work and contractor's performance. Experience with American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Welding Society (AWS), and other applicable codes.
