Manager-Corporate Tax

This position will be responsible for tax compliance and planning for federal, state, and international jurisdictions.  Tax responsibilities also include sales tax, unclaimed property, and property tax.  Responsible for handling audits by tax authorities.  Must interact and develop relationships with business unit personnel to facilitate tax compliance and reporting and assist in the tax impact of business decisions.  Should consistently identify and recommend potential planning and refund ideas to the Director - Corporate Tax.  Should assist in preparation of FAS 109 reporting.  Required to follow Turner policies and procedures.  Reports to the Director of Corporate Tax.



Oversee federal, state, and foreign tax filings. Determine tax consequences of company actions; recommend strategies minimizing the tax burden and policies for minimizing risk. Interact with business units to identify and resolve tax issues and audits. Adhere to and provide recommendations for improving tax related processes. Participate in Turner’s accounting for income taxes. Analyze, monitor, and pursue legislative, regulatory, and judicial state tax developments.  Lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals. Support and partner with Turner personnel to successfully defend filing positions and to negotiate favorable resolutions of proposed deficiencies. Facilitate activities of outside advisers engaged to assist in tax controversy matters.  Participate in reviews of ongoing business activities and proposed transactions to properly advise management of tax consequences and opportunities, with emphasis on tax efficiency and compliance with legal requirements.  Perform other duties as requested.
