Primary Job Duties: Responsible for the strategic development, Profit & Loss and the life cycle management of the sensors, control systems and services for the Honeywell Analytics Commercial gas detection line of business. Supervise the Product Manager as the technical marketing interface to ensure the continued support of the existing product line and the development of new development projects. Foster sales & service growth via proactive communications, training, technical and sales presentations and other sales tools. Be responsible for the pricing, discount thresholds, attainable margins and forecasts for the segment portfolio. Champion the customer requirements for new applications, technical issues, certifications and respond accordingly following a business focused assessment of the market significance. Support the value chain at all points in the distribution network and develop a practical knowledge of the end user’s requirements through field based interactions. Be the market expert for industry trends, business drivers and competitive forces in the target markets (which include Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning HVAC, Indoor Air Quality, Refrigeration, Building Security & Automation, Combustion Efficiency, Safety Management). Utilize the market intelligence to direct new product development, marketing campaigns, industry lobbying and promote Honeywell Analytics as the market leader. Coordinate the Business Intelligence gathering on competitors, adjacent spaces and emerging technologies. Create Product Development Plans (PDP) for new products; capture Voice of the Customer (VOC) market data, support the development of business plans for strategic projects associated with new products, cost reductions and other growth initiatives.. Supervise the progress of allocated R & D projects with the Project Leader; provide market led input to the product design and timeline throughout all phases of the product development. Facilitate teamwork across multiple departments including Procurement, Quality, Production, Marketing Communications in order to meet the agreed timeline for new product introductions. Coordinate with the Marketing Communications department on the development of all product launch materials to effect a comprehensive sales support and communications campaign. Develop an annual communications plan with the Marketing Manager for all associated product lines. Routinely capture competitive and market data for the related products and segments in order to report on market opportunities and emerging standards and technologies for future exploitation. Develop training tools & campaigns for the sales team that focus on the product strengths in key applications that meet the end users’ requirements. Review on a monthly basis unit and revenue based sales for all associated product lines. Assess and report achievable margin and pricing for all product lines on a quarterly basis. Define with the Marketing Manager pricing & rationalization strategies on an annual basis and execute & communicate progress effectively with the wider management team.Qualifications: Bachelor Degree, in engineering, technology, science or marketing, business administration disciplineProven industrial product management experience ideally in a HVAC or related engineering market.5 years minimum experience in technology development, product testing, research and development, service or sales of industrial instrumentation is an advantageStrong communication and project planning skills; effective presenter; team player and networking capability requiredAbility to travel throughout the Americas routinely on business tripsProficient in MS Office is a requisite; experience with SAP and CRM tools is an advantage Bilingual in technical and commercial French and English is an advantageExperience with Six Sigma management techniques is an advantage Location: Chicago, IL, USA Honeywell International is a $36 billion diversified technology and manufacturing global leader.
