Chugach Industries, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chugach Alaska Corporation, has a long-term facilities management contract at the Picatinny Arsenal in Morris County, NJ. We currently have over 200 full time employees and we are responsible for managing Logistics, Public Works, IT, Safety and Health and Environmental Services.

 

Summary/General Description of Job:

As directed, performs a variety of Transportation services including Processing Small Package Federal Express shipments, General Freight Outbound utilizing existing systems, programs, policies, work methods, or other established guidelines.



 

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

· Enters data into GFM System.

· Contacts and schedules Commercial Carriers for shipments to be delivered by the customers required delivery date (RDD).

· Oversees proper securing and loading of freight in accordance with (IAW) Dept of Transportation regulations, including Protective security services, labeling, marking, etc.

· Prepares proper documentation including CBL, GBL, corrections, and registered mail.

· Processes of Outbound General Freight Shipments utilizing SDDC Programs.

· Maintains files and computer logs in the PDN files.

· Certifies commodities presented for Small Package Express Shipments.

· Verifies proper shipping requirements according to the IATA (International Air transport Association.

· Enters data into ETA System, generating shipping labels and any necessary accompanying documentation including International shipping documents, and SED (Shipping export document).

· Performs tracking to ensure delivery requirements have been met by small package carrier.

· Investigates delayed shipments, incorrect addresses, and reshipment instructions, credit requests, etc.

· Generates daily report; monthly tracking in PDN file.

· Keeps supervisor apprised of unique situations and problems.



 

Job Requirements (Education, Skills & Experience):

Mandatory:

· US Citizenship

· Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance

· Working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to: Word, Power Point, Excel.

· Understanding of government correspondence, reports, and records.

· Mature judgment and ability to work with little or no supervision.

· Valid state driver’s license with suitable driving record.

· High School graduate or equivalent.

· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

· Excellent organizational skills.

 

Preferred Experience:



·  Outbound freight and small package tendering background

·  General knowledge of trucking and transportation terminology

·  Hazardous shipping  background

 

We are currently seeking an experienced Material Coordinator to assist in handling Outbound Freight. This is a Service Contract Act position. In addition to the hourly rate of $20.06, we offer an additional $5.26 per hour for our comprehensive benefits program, which includes medical, dental, vision, STD/LTD, Life, 401(k).
