Mid Level ASP.NET Developer (VB.NET)
Located in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood, a short walk from Metra train stations, Walsh Construction is the largest general contractor in Illinois. We are seeking a mid level .net developer to add to our team of talented technology specialists. The ideal candidate will be hard working, self motivating, detail oriented, intellectually curious, and an excellent communicator. Our new developer will work with numerous existing ASP.NET 2.0 and .NET Winform applications, as well as several SQL Server machine hosting dozens of databases. They will be expected to manage their own work, meet with internal customers, code new applications/features, fix bugs in existing applications, test and document with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities
Apply your experience with full life cycle development of custom business applications, targeting both the web and windows platforms, using Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft SQL Server. Learn the business process that your application will be implementing, and deliver a solution to help drive our business. Properly document your work, comment your code, and test your application using both automated and manual tests. Apply excellent communication skills, a detail minded viewpoint, and a team-oriented attitude.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
· 1-3 years experience with software development life-cycle methodologies and application troubleshooting in development, and production environments
· 1-3 years experience with using ASP.NET, Visual Studio, Visual Basic.NET (or C#)
· 1-3 years experience with website basics (HTML, DHTML, Java Script, CSS, AJAX)
· 1-3 years experience working with SQL Server 2000 or 2005 (creating appropriate database schema, T-SQL Stored Procedures, views, joins etc)
· Experience with .Net Winform applications
