Network and Desktop Support I ENGINEERING YOUR CAREER SUCCESS THE JOB—WHAT IT IS:Provides second level support of user workstations, including installing and troubleshooting software and hardware problems. Provides network solutions to the LAN/WAN environment and to user workstations.Essential Functions and Duties:• Research and resolve 2nd Level Support work orders for software and hardware end user computing office servers and desktop based LAN systems.• Configures and loads software for user’s desktop and laptops• Maintains customers desktop software and hardware and supports a mobile workforce • Open and/or close work orders (via Track-It software) on each call received.• Troubleshoots connectivity and configures local area networks• Assume primary responsibility for an enterprise application such as McAfee Anti-virus, Help Desk software, Dell Open Manage, etc.• Install and maintain tape backup hardware and software.• Ensures adherence to desktop security procedures• Participate in company technology projects as needed.• Attend mandatory training and meetings. Possibly assist in the planning or facilitation of these events.• Maintain an accurate record of hours spent on Work Orders and projects.THE PERSON—WHAT IT TAKES:Required:High school diploma or GED required.Three to five experience with Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003, desktop and trouble shooting network issues One to three years in a Help Desk or desktop support position.Preferred:AS degree and or work toward BS in Information SystemsMCP certification orMCSA certification orMCSE certification orN+ certification orCCIE orA+ certification or any combinationEssential Skills/Abilities• Experience with Microsoft Office software (currently Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access)• Windows Server 2000/3• Experience in LAN/ WAN networking environments• Windows Professional workstation operating systems• Willingness to increase existing knowledge and learn new skills• Willingness to work as a member of a team• Excellent Oral and written communication skills• Excellent Customer service skills• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusionsTHE OPPORTUNITY—WHAT IT MEANS:We are growing together.
