Job Description McGraw-Hill Construction (MHC), a division of The McGraw-Hill Companies, connects people, projects and products across the design and construction industry. Backed by the power of Dodge, Sweets, Architectural Record, Engineering News Record (ENR), and our Regional Publications, McGraw-Hill Construction serves more than one million professionals within the $4.6 trillion global construction community. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to promote McGraw-Hill Construction products and services solutions, such as Sweets Product Marketplace and Dodge, to Building Product Manufacturers (BPM's) within the Northwest territory. This position is responsible for selling all MHC products to building product manufacturers who are not current clients.  The incumbent is expected to be engaged with prospects through analytical research, professional organization participation, market research, use of industry panels, trade show attendance, interviewing prospective customers, and making sales calls.The successful candidate will embrace the development of solutions focused on individual customer requirements. This sales team member must be capable of building business with new customers in order to ensure the fulfillment of assigned quotas.  In this role you will be expected to establish relationships with multiple levels of management including executive level decision makers.  The sales leader will understand the customer's work processes and devise an appropriate solution intended to impact and aid MHC customers in meeting their sales and marketing objectives.  Additionally, New Business Development Manager are expected to work in tandem with Account Managers, resource team members, and service support staff from other McGraw-Hill Construction product lines to maximize customer value.  This position will require 50% travel.-The selected applicant will satisfy the following qualifications: -Bachelors Degree and equivalent industry experience -3+ years experience in solutions-based consultative sales -Excellent verbal written communication skills to effectively present MHC services, provide required follow-up correspondence, service proposals, use plans and other forms of communication -Required to support and service the customers/prospects -Able to organize and manage a multi-state sales territory requiring extensive travel and continuing telephone contact with customers and prospects. -Proficiency in windows based applications and contact management software-Individuals with experience in selling premium products enabling applications like CRM, Sale Force Automation, etc. are preferred.-Working within the architectural, design and building products industry preferred.
