And we welcome anyone who shares our commitment to ingenuity and excellence.EOE/AA EmployerLeads the integration of the Controls Group Safety and Health Program with the Customer’s program at the site/project level and directs and supports site management in the implementation and management of the resulting program and associated processes. PRINCIPLE DUTIES: Implements Controls Group (CG) safety and health procedures and processes including those associated with site/project start-ups. Modifies safety and health programs to meet customer or site requirements/specifications. Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions and practices at the site/project on an ongoing basis and develops hazard control practices and programs. Leads the site management in the investigation if incidents/injuries (including subcontractor injuries), and provides analysis of cause along with recommendations for corrective action. Completes, maintains and reports incident/injury information in accordance with CG and Customer protocols. Manages workers compensation cases, uses the CHESS system to track them and applies cost containment measures as necessary. Tracks and analyzes site/project safety and health statistics and makes recommendations for correction of problem areas. Establishes improvement actions/targets based on Controls Group and/or customer injury prevention goals and/or key performance indicators. Performs safety and health audits and develops action plans to correct deficiencies. Works with site operations to execute action plan. Guides and assists site/project personnel in addressing safety and health issues. Performs safety training in accordance with site requirements as well as develops and conducts safety and health training to address specific needs. Conducts new employee and subcontractor safety and health orientation training and contributes to pre-construction and weekly construction meetings. Provides direction and leadership to site/project management on OSHA issues including compliance, interpretations, inspections, and the investigation of violations and citation resolution. Provides oversight relative to subcontractor adherence to JC safety and health specifications. Determines whether subcontractors meet JC pre-qualification criteria for safety and health. Reviews and reinforces safety and health programs with those subcontractors not meeting the minimum safety and health criteria and provides direction for their improvement. Acts as a technical safety and health resource to management and O&M staff at their assigned site/project and provides support for other assigned sites/projects as needed. Reviews all new work being proposed to the Customer for potential safety impact. Determines appropriate safety and health resources and develops the cost structure for the work being proposed. Works with CG Safety and Health to formulate an action plan when work is highly hazardous and/or outside of the FMS core business from a safety and health perspective. Keeps abreast of safety and health industry best practices, and technological developments and equipment to remain up-to-date on safety and health systems, devices and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize hazards. Keeps current on regulatory requirements pertaining to safety and health. Leads project teams that address CG-wide safety and health issues to develop new processes and related materials, and to update existing programs. Other duties as assigned or required. Bachelor's degree in Industrial Safety and Health or related equivalent required. Minimum of five years experience working in industrial and/or construction safety and health. Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management. Ability to travel up to 70% of the time to conduct site evaluations and training.
