Payroll Manager

James B. Pirtle Construction Co., Inc is currently seeking a professional Payroll Manager to join our team.  The position is located in our corporate office in Davie.

 

Pirtle Construction is known as one of the premier contractors in South Florida with a yearly revenue of over $300 million.  The company specializes in the construction of public facilities including schools, libraries, police & fire stations, parks, and other municipal projects.

 

Job Description

 

·  Analyze, prepare and process payroll data for approximately 200 employees.  Utilize dynamic payroll system to produce accurate and timely payroll.  Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal laws.

·  Partner with HR generalist to ensure employee related transactions and changes (new hires, termination, salary changes) are completed by the required payroll deadline and in accordance with company and federal regulations.

·  Must maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, specifically wage and hour laws.

·  Administer vacation, personal and sick leave.  Handle all employment verification inquires.

·  Ensure payroll and HR module within ERP system are aligned and used to their fullest capabilities.

·  Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports as required by law and for management.

·  Answer payroll inquiries and resolve all discrepancies as they arise.

·  Identify and integrate best practices, implement and communicate new policies and procedures.

·  Ensure all payroll records are kept in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.

·  Conduct payroll and benefit audits to confirm accuracy of payments, deductions and billing.

·  Plan and schedule payroll calendar.

·  Responsible for other duties assigned by management.

 

 

Requirements

 



·  Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field or the equivalent years of experience.  CPP or FCP certification is preferred.

·  Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in a fast pace environment.  Must have previous experience processing union payroll.

·  Must have previous experience and knowledge with sophisticated ERP system such as JD Edwards, Oracle, People Soft or SAP.  Previous experience with CMiC is a plus.

·  Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.

·  Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.  Attention to detail is critical.

·  Exceptional customer service skills.

·  Problem analysis and problem resolution.
