Performance Contracting / Energy Engineer - Houston TX or HOME BASE

Each measure is carefully selected to maximize operating cost reductions while enhancing building occupant comfort and safety.

 

This position will be a Home-base opportunity which could be located anywhere in TX or SW states.

 

Our Client has an outstanding opportunity for an Energy Performance Contracting Engineer.  The Performance Contracting Engineer (PCE) serves as the technical resource to the sales and operations teams responsible for identifying and understanding the energy and mechanical related problems within a customer's facility.  The PCE takes site evaluation information and develops comprehensive, cost-effective technical solutions that increase the operational and energy efficiency of the site.  This position is also responsible for establishing an ongoing relationship with the customer, providing technical consultation on current systems and future energy and operating efficiencies.

Responsibilities will include:

Contributes to the profitable growth of the business unit by understanding the vertical market opportunities and recommending an approach to the comprehensive technical services offering that will increase market share, exceed the customer’s expectations. 

 

Maintains expert technical understanding of energy and plant/facility operations within the vertical markets (hospitals, universities, schools, industrials, government and commercial buildings) and establishes a high level of confidence in technical competency through ongoing customer and third party partnerships.

 

Determines the feasibility of the project and recommends course of action, including assessment of opportunity and risk areas.

 

Conducts in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating inefficiencies within the facility and uses the information to develop and design a comprehensive technical offering that may utilizes systems/services portfolio and which results in guaranteed long term operating efficiency and costs and savings to the customer.

 

Works with the sales and operations teams and consulting engineers in developing the technical and financial components of the job to include accurate cost estimates, and savings and labor requirements.

Participates in the final customer presentation by leading the technical discussion of the offering and responding to questions by the customer facility experts.

 

Works with subcontractors and consultants to ensure the quality of work is consistent with the requirements of the job.

 

Serves as the ongoing technical resource to the customer on energy and operating efficiency matters, and provides advice/counsel on areas where the customer could improve their operations and provide savings to the customer.

 

Resolves problems that may arise after project completion in meeting the energy guarantee.  Identify reasons for guarantee failures and/or develop necessary solutions to bring the energy usage back to acceptable levels.

 

Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Minimum 3 years of progressive energy engineering experience. Experience in commercial and industrial energy engineering, utility cost analysis, facilities management and life cycle cost analysis. Experience in project development and energy conservation program implementation. Strong project management, estimating and documenting skills. Excellent commutation and presentation ability. Design engineering and proficiency in Central Plant applications, distributed generation, cogeneration/combined heat and power (CHP) a plus. Design engineering in renewable applications a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) license, highly desired. Certified Energy Manager (CEM), plus.
