PRECONSTRUCTION MANAGER - AUSTIN

 

Kinetics is an agile, global process and mechanical systems provider focused on the electronics, biopharmaceutical and other strategic industries.  Our Design/ Build team in Austin, Texas seeks a Preconstruction Manager as a key position to our local and regional success in high-purity mechanical contracting. We are able to offer this position as a new, start-up possibility within our well-established organization. 

 

The Preconstruction Manager is responsible for: Sales:  Identify and track sales opportunities in Texas Manage the preparation and submission of proposalsFollow proposals through award to include presentations and interviewsMaintain communication with the clients during the course of the projects to assure continuation of a strong relationship Estimating:  Estimate all assigned projects, ensuring that take-offs, labor factors and material pricing is accurate Call for special material pricing, equipment quotes, and subcontractor quotesCommunicate all items to the preconstruction manager that need to be addressed in the proposal Help determine general conditions, requirements, rental equipment requirements, project manager requirements, crew costs, etc. required to complete the final proposalsMake recommendations to the Operations Manager and/or Project Manager on value engineering items that could reduce the bid pricePrepare final cap sheets including all general condition itemsPreconstruction:  Participate in pre-construction meetings and relay all pertinent information to the project manager and purchasing Walk jobsites and attend pre- and post-job reviewsRead all technical data available to keep current with industry changesAdvise estimating manager of schedule conflicts that may require reprioritizationCommunicate with employees, vendors, and subcontractors with the highest level of integrity, ethics, and honesty

 

The ideal qualifications we seek in the best candidate include:Substantial knowledge of the industryBachelors of Science in Engineering or equivalentThree to seven years of sales and/or estimating experienceTechnical knowledge of sheet metal, piping, and plumbing; familiarity with computerized pricing databases and spreadsheetsSkilled at reading and interpreting blueprints and specificationsProficient with computer estimating and support programs as well as MS Office and Outlook Software packages Strong organizational traits as well as an ability to carry out multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines regularlyQualified candidates should possess excellent communication and problem solving skills
