Production and Inventory Control Manager

Insight Professional Staffing has partnered with a global manufacturer of industrial electrical products to recruit a Production and Inventory Control Manager for its Nebraska facility. We need a manufacturing professional that will plan, coordinate, control and direct activities involving the scheduling and release of production orders, the requisitioning of product purchased parts and the maintaining of effective inventory control records and system procedures. This person will plan production scheduling activities. Sets up work orders for production, including picking lists, stock orders and required materials to fulfill customer order requirements. Maintain inventory controls, records and system procedures. Manage materials inventory (of @ $15MM) and production control to meet established fill rate and lead-time accuracy goals.
Oversee planning, scheduling, organizing and releasing of materials flow through the plant and between facilities as needed.
Evaluate written data such as job orders, product specifications and operations sheets, parts and materials inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operations and workflow. Accurately develop production forecasts.
Confer with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production schedules.
Accomplish all delivery objectives at appropriate cost levels while achieving inventory turnover objectives.
Train and/or oversee the training of new and existing employees with materials related issues.
Implement procedures consistent with policies and guidelines.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of Quality System and execute its requirements as applicable. Monitor quality of goods by reviewing costs, schedules, timeliness of delivery and conformance to specifications.
Issue written and oral instructions to manage, direct and instruct Material Buyers/Schedulers and Materials Supervisor. Assign duties and examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
Support forecasted annual sales over $100MM while maintaining customer service and inventory investment goals.
Determine work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.
Study and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
Prepare composite reports and analysis from individual reports of subordinates or system reports.
Travel as needed to support materials/PIC function (approximately 10%).
Review opportunities for new supply sources and suitability of materials or products.
Perform other duties as assigned or which are inherent to the position.


Experience and Qualifications

• Two (2) years functionally related supervisory/management experience
• Four (4) year college degree with concentration in business, supply chain management, materials, purchasing or engineering.
• Experience with BPCS and LogPro (or comparable warehouse management system - WMS along with APICS certification a plus.

 

Or as an equivalent:

 

• Two (2) years functionally related supervisory/management experience
• APICS certification
• Eight (8) years functionally related industry experience possessing product specific knowledge as related to conduit and cable fittings, plugs and receptacles, conduit boxes industrial lighting and/or enclosures and controls used for explosion proof, hazardous and ordinary location environments.
• Experience with BPCS and LogPro (or comparable warehouse management system - WMS) a plus.
