Project Controls Specialist (Construction)

Innovative Technical Solutions, Inc. (ITSI) is a national Civil / Environmental Engineering, Construction & Consulting firm based in Walnut Creek, California, (www.itsi.com) focusing on providing turnkey solutions for our clients. We are currently seeking to fill a position for an experienced Construction Project Controller in Denver, CO.

 

Job Description:

The Project Cost Control Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with maintaining cost and schedule data for many public sector clients.  The position requires at least 5+ years of project controls related experience. Knowledge of creating and maintaining project schedules in Primavera.  The position also requires knowledge of Project Management industry standards/best practices, and experience in applying them.  Such as bottoms up Estimate to Complete calculations, earned value reporting and variance analysis.

 

Responsibilities:

·  Ability to manage controls and reporting for multiple projects at one time

·  Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients

·  Creating/managing cost loaded schedules

·  Create, maintain, report, and analyze the project budget, costs to date, estimate to complete and schedule on a monthly basis

·  Identify / trouble-shoot schedule and cost conflicts

·  Detection and resolution of project cost and schedule issues

·  Prepare monthly internal cost and status reports including margin analysis

·  Support project team in analysis of delay claims

·  Provide additional client cost support as needed

 

Experience:

·  5+ years Project Controls Experience

·  Experience and proficiency (intermediate to expert level) in the use of  Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), Primavera scheduling software

·  Actual / Accrued Cost Analysis & Estimate to Complete Analysis

·  Knowledge of Project Management industry standards and best practices

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·  Knowledge of government reporting a plus
