Purchasing Coordinator-CAT Dealer

Penn, the Caterpillar equipment dealer for lower NY and all CT has an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our company as a Purchasing Coordinator for our Power Generation division located in our Holtsville branch. This is great opportunity for a career minded individual to join a growing company.

 

In this role, the successful candidate will be performing the following functions:

 

o  Make competitive purchases and coordinate the timely delivery of non-Caterpillar items to meet commitments

o  Verify Vendor quotes and Issue Purchase orders

o  Update production control lists

o  Expedite emergency deliveries to meet customer commitments 

o  Track shipments and maintain status logs

o  Ensure accurate accounting of outside vendor invoices

o  Advise Management, sales department, and project management team of order status

 

Qualifications:

· High School Graduate, College preferred

· Minimum of two years of purchasing experience in a sales environment, electrical and/or mechanical purchasing a plus

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and Outlook

· Excellent attention to detail and follow up skills
