Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.CH2M HILL is looking for a dynamic Purchasing Technician to join our team in the Anchorage, Alaska office.The Purchasing Agent will (1) procure routine overhead materials and services, and (2) input into the Oracle based procurement system for other Purchasing Specialists and Contract Administrators. Aquires and administers overhead materials and routine services, within signature authority thresholds. Assists requesters in completing purchase requisitions. Places orders via telephone or by written purchase order for low dollar value off-the-shelf or standard supplies, materials and equipment requirements. Issues the appropriate purchase order to the vendor. Solicits and documents telephone quotations for pricing support and procurement actions. Identifies small and disadvantaged businesses and provides maximum opportunity for utilization. Expedites purchase orders as necessary to ensure delivery meets user requirements. Interfaces with accounts payable to process the region’s invoices and to complete new vendor set ups. Ensures that each invoice processed for payment is consistent with the terms, conditions, and payment provisions of a valid obligation instrument. Closes out purchase orders in accordance with Company procedures. Establishes and maintains procurement files in accordance with Company procedures. Provides input into the Oracle based procurement system for other Contract Administrators. Maintains procurement information on behalf of the Regional Contract Manager, running regional level reports, and coordinating with the Corporate Purchasing Specialist on Oracle enhancements. Maintains the Subcontract and Purchase Order system log for the Region, if not Oracle based.Qualifications High School, plus computer skills or equivalent experience. Experience 2 years administrative In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate would meet the following preferred qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business or related field desirable, may substitute a one for one equivalent for years experience. Good computer skills Good communication and organizational skills.
