We are currently seeking qualified Resource Technicians for our Continuous Improvement Management (CIM) group, who will travel for six weeks at a time to assist with special projects involving construction, maintenance repair and retrofits of Vestas wind turbines. Candidates must be willing to travel 100% of the time to sites throughout the United States.

 

Essential Functions:

§ Perform retrofits/upgrades to turbines.

§ Commission turbines.

§ Investigate technical issues and report to technical specialist (accordingly).

§ Diagnose and troubleshoot electro-mechanical turbine issues.

§ Complete reports and paperwork as required.

§ May work as product expert in new site implementation projects.

§ Perform general maintenance and service on wind turbines.

§ Travels full-time and works overtime including weekends as needed.

 

Education, Training & Skills Required:

1. High school education or equivalent required; technical Associates degree preferred.

2. A minimum of 3-5 years hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical experience with demonstrated high levels of skill and expertise.

3. Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of aircraft, heavy equipment and/or automobiles preferred.

4. Airframe & power plant, automotive or heavy equipment certification preferred.

5. Ability to work in an environment using a decentralized, team-based approach.

6. Leadership and mentoring abilities.

7. Solid problem solving skills.

8. Ability to use a computer for data collection and basic software skills.

9. Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record.

10. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

11. Ability to communicate with all levels of the company.

12. Strong attention to detail and ability to work precisely.

13. Ability to work independently and unsupervised.

14. Ability to climb ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and work in confined spaces with diverse environmental conditions.

15. Experience with Original Equipment Manufacturers preferred.

16. Experience in dealing and diplomatically communicating with customers.

17. Experience in dealing with design and project teams.
