POSITIONS OPEN AT THE FOLLOWING LOCATION: 

 * Las Vegas, Nevada


POSITION DESCRIPTION: Prepare proposal estimates (bids) for Sheet Metal type Mechanical projects.

 PRIMARY DUTIES: Use Quick Pen Auto Bid & Est-Duct Estimating software to do quantified take-offs.Review RFP’s, Specifications, Basis of Design and drawings to determine scope of work and required contests of estimate.Prepare sheet metal, and take-offs.Gain or have the knowledge and ability to perform drawing redlines.Solicit subcontractor bids and vendor quotes.Assemble estimating spreadsheets.Support other department personnel as required.Estimate small to medium sized projects independently.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

·  Ability to operate a personal computer using spreadsheet, word processing, database, and estimating software.

·  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

·  Ability or desire to learn how to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, Architectural, Structural & Mechanical drawings.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

·  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: Holding a degree from a four-year college, trade school or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience. Past experience in similar Mechanical construction estimating and/or related functions.  The desire to learn estimating strategies and techniques and how they would support corporate objectives.
