SHOP MECHANIC

Well established company in business 70+ years is rapidly growing and searching for experienced Shop Mechanic to join their team.

 

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools and maintain company equipment.

 Diagnose malfunctions in operating machines and equipment and determine need for adjustment or repairDismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective partsExamine form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirementsAdjust functional parts of devices and control instrumentsRepair or replace defective partsInstall special functional and structural parts in deviceLubricate and clean partsStart devices to test their performanceSet up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, welder, cutter and other tools to make and repair partsInitiate purchase order for parts and machines

 

Requirements:Minimum 3 years experience as a Shop MechanicAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamGood communications skillsHeavy equipment hydraulics preferredExperience with drill rigs highly desirable
