Safety Engineer

The team of safety engineers works on a variety of the most challenging projects in the industry that include efforts ranging from airport construction, to light rail renovation, to high rise power vaults, to renewable energy.

POSITION:    SAFETY ENGINEER

REPORTS TO:    DIRECTOR OF SAFETY

JOB PURPOSE:  To assist the Safety Director in maintaining Aldridge safety programs for each assigned
company Division through the training and education of
all personnel with regard to all OSHA and ANSI
standards as they relate to the construction industry.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitor and enforce all company safety policies and procedures Work with Division Manager and Project Managers to address specific Division safety needs Conduct daily jobsite inspections Reporting/recordkeeping on job audits Conduct toolbox talks Liaison between our company and General and Subcontractors Assist in accident/incident/near-miss investigations Orientation of new employees Prepare and/or conduct appropriate divisional training as needed and maintain training documentation Maintain PPE order forms and stock Manage light duty employees Gather materials to combat OSHA violations Review safety policies and procedures as requirements change Assist in the preparation of the monthly safety committee meetings
This job responsibility list covers only the most important job duties.  Employees assigned to this position title will also perform other occasional work assignments not mentioned above, including temporary, training, and other related assignments.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Minimum 1 year experience in a construction environment General knowledge of Construction Standards -CFR 1926 Basic computer skills- Word, Excel, Power Point Ability to relate to a diverse group of individuals throughout the organization Good customer relation skills Ability to handle pressure and adapt to a variety of field conditions People oriented personality to “sell” safety programs to the field
