And we welcome anyone who shares our commitment to ingenuity and excellence.EOE/AA EmployerRESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:Under general supervision, configures or engineers complex, integrated security systems including access control, CCTV, digital video recording, intrusion, perimeter and other special systems integrated with the overall security system per plans and specifications or scope created with the customer. Emphasis is on the creation of the lowest total installed cost-effective system that meets customer expectations.  Responsible for programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting integrated security systems. Provides detailed information / submittals to communicate design to customers, installation team and subcontractors.  Technical resource for installation team. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Designs and / or configures integrated security systems which utilizes Access Control, CCTV, Digital Video, Intrusion, and Perimeter as defined by the project specification or scope of work on projects while maintaining quality and ensuring customer satisfaction. Completes engineering to core engineering team standards.  Makes use of existing systems library to ensure job is engineered with maximum efficiency. Accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs.  Participates in engineering release meeting with project field team. Coordinates preparation of project submittal package for customer or owner through core engineering.  Reviews project submission package. Prepares layout and installation drawings. Orders material from both internal sources and / or external vendors, and expedites as necessary.  Obtains lead-time discounts when possible. Coordinates factory-mounting processes.  Ensures timely delivery to appropriate locations. Responsible for total system operation. Troubleshoots system problems, works with subcontractors, 3RD party equipment vendors and other trades to ensure proper operation.  Performs static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) software programming independently.  Configures operator workstations and all required software. Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, decade boxes, network terminals and/or a lap top computer. Communicates with Johnson Controls project management and / or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.  Keeps customer informed on progress. Reviews customer’s systems and, if needed, points out other areas of improvement. Keeps management apprised of customer concerns and issues. Completes all required commissioning documentation.  Provides accurate information for as-built documentation. Performs site-specific training for owner / operator on the total system.  Assists with turnover to service. Communicates effectively with the general or electrical contractor, consultants, architect engineers and other sub-contractors as required. Adheres to safety standards, local and national security codes.  High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. Attends all technical certification training for security systems products including 3rd party product partners ( ie: Pelco). Performs other related duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with three years related experience required or an Associates degree in Electrical / Electronic Technology with seven years related experience.  Previous experience with computer aided design. Five years experience within the security industry strongly required.  Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts.  Able to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
