Senior Plumbing Designer

 We are AMPAM Parks Mechanical, a family owned, well established, plumbing contractor that specializes in the new construction of apartment and condominiums. We are located in Wilmington, California, we have forty plus current projects in Southern California and over 650 employees. 

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Senior Plumbing Designer with skills in the following areas:

Experience:

2 or more years experience in plumbing design with experience in the design of new construction of apartment and condominiums is a plus

2 years experience with AutoCad

 

Responsibilities:

Design of plumbing systems for waste, water, gas and sewer lines in new construction projects

The successful applicant must have a good working knowledge of piping system design, equipment sizing/selection, fixture selection, specifications and good time management to be able to complete projects with deadlines

The applicant must have an understanding of civil, structural and architectural plans to determine fit of equipment and systems within the building structure.

Be able to communicate effectively with internal staff, customers and building officials in a manner that allows for the successful completion of the project.

Have the ability to understand the customers design requests and transfer that to a design that will meet not only the customer’s wishes but also conform to city plan checks.

Assist the other members of the design team with problem solving.

The applicant will also have an above average knowledge of AutoCAD software.

 

Requirements

Two to five years experience is preferred but not required

Good written and verbal skills

AutoCAD experience related to plumbing design

An applicant holding a PE license in the State of California is not required but a plus with increased salary

Work well in a team environment

 

Desired skills:

Has the proven ability to successfully design small projects or portions of larger, complex projects.
