Explore the opportunity of world-changing work available to you below.The person filling this position will be part of the support structure for procurement and materials management and will assist in advocating for implementing and maintaining the engineering interfaces to these systems. The global procurement and material management system is comprised of Smart Plant Materials Management (SPMM, also formerly known as MARIAN), SmartPlant Reference Data (SPRD) and plant design tools including Autoplant (AP3D), Intergraph PDS and Plant Space (PSDS). Future interfaces might include support for facilities and infrastructure projects and will likely use other design tools in addition to these. SPMM is a material management system used to facilitate CH2M HILL’s supply chain management process. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:1. Designing, building, testing, and maintaining material libraries in SPMM. This involves designing commodity codes, geometrics, and associated engineering content for equipment and materials in each engineering discipline that deserves libraries entries. These commodity codes will be used across the enterprise and therefore, coordination with representatives from other groups will be necessary.2. Designing, building, testing, and maintaining specifications that are also established in SPMM and used to interface with multiple design tools. Coordinating or collaborating with engineers who create specifications.3. Designing, testing, maintaining, and documenting actual and procedural workflows within SPMM defining how to download material specifications to design tools, uploading Bills of Materials (BOM) to SPMM. Actual workflows refer to technical requirements to interface SPMM to design tools and back again. Procedures include the subsequent generation of requisitions for the procurement of materials, equipment, and services.4. Assisting with the management of engineering design documents and maintaining links required by SPMM.5. Configuring the SPMM system so it can be used for all EPC projects by multiple business groups. Maintaining and improving the enterprise configurations and supporting workflows. Note: This person will need to coordinate with project teams that will implement the enterprise configuration on projects.6. Developing and maintaining test cases to verify the proper functioning of the system such as configurations, workflows, and reports in SPMM. Note: Project teams will use these test approaches to verify their project setup.7. Testing SPMM software upgrades and patches prior to their use in production.8. Assisting with the planning for, configuration for, and rollout of the system to client projects.9. Assisting with the training of project personnel in the use of SPMM.10. Monitor the engineering materials process and systems utilization as they are deployed on projects to ensure correct and consistent approach and application across the company. QualificationsA minimum of 6 years related work experience working is required. Candidate must also have a solid working knowledge of engineering design processes, engineering specifications, and design automation tools (CAD/CAE). A strong IT background with experience managing, or having responsibility over a significant engineering, procurement, or construction/application is needed.
