Responsibilities

The candidate for the Senior Energy Engineer / Analyst position will be responsible for analyzing and preparing reports for different energy efficient measures. The ideal candidate will be able to conduct energy audits in industrial and large commercial facilities. Under limited supervision, this person will identify and quantify energy efficiency measures associated with Refrigeration, HVAC, lighting, compressed air, boilers and other thermal systems. Responsibilities include site investigations, field audits, performing energy savings calculations, developing cost estimates and written descriptions of energy efficiency measures.

Tasks

•  Analyze utility bill data to baseline customer energy performance parameters.

•  Coordinate and schedule site visits with the customer and company personnel.

•  Collect detailed information on the end use systems (e.g., existing equipment type, condition and performance criteria, operating schedules, and functionality of the space).

•  Perform data entry and quality control of audit.

•  Identify and quantify energy efficiency measures associated with HVAC, refrigeration, lighting, compressed air, boiler and other thermal systems.

•  Work with project developers to determine high-level  and detailed energy savings analysis.

•  Establish design criteria by identifying the customer’s needs, preferences and experiences.

•  Recommend final design based on the design criteria and efficiency measures.

•  Write detailed EEM descriptions and supporting attachments to be included in rebate submissions.

•  Work with utilities through project scoping, development, implementation and commissioning to ensure rebate / incentive acquisition.

•  Design measurement & verification (M&V), including performance variable sensitivity.

•  Write detailed M&V plans.

•  Write post-installation reports documenting project performance in comparison to proposals.

Education/Experience

BS (MS preferred) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

2-5 years experience in an energy efficiency technical discipline demonstrating superb problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Experience with DOE-2, DOE-2R, eQuest and eQuest-R modeling programs or equivalent.

Proficient in MS Office software – Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.

Professional level writing and oral communication skills.

Past experience interfacing with customer technical representatives.
