Performs expert emergency, maintenance, testing, limited engineering, and start-up technical support across a wide range of electrical and/or mechanical equipment, systems and subsystems (including software where applicable) from simple to moderately complex in nature. Provides technical training, coaching, and work direction to other Service Specialists and subcontractors. The Sr. Service Specialist reports directly to the Operations / Service Manager or Supervisor, as do all Service Specialists. This position may provide day-to-day work direction to other Service Specialists and subcontractor personnel. Maintains positive customer relations by communicating well, maintaining a positive attitude, delivering to customer requirements, being timely, efficient, effective and continually looking for ways to improve quality. Performs scheduled, preventive maintenance on any equipment/system under contract agreement by inspecting, adjusting, cleaning, and calibrating systems and checking out equipment to ensure it's in satisfactory working order. Completes maintenance, within assigned Labor Load PM hours, in a manner that reduces emergency calls and results in achieving the goal of zero calls backs. Responds to any type of emergency service calls as directed to keep system downtime to a minimum. Analyzes, trouble-shoots, repairs, and restores equipment/systems and software to full operation and recommends revisions/replacements when necessary for effectiveness. Adjusts, calibrates and replaces components as necessary Performs detailed operational and safety tests with standard, predictive and high technology test equipment and makes minor to complex adjustments as needed to improve the equipment or system operational efficiency. Makes simple to more complex repairs to mechanical units, remotes, I/O equipment, CPU's, and software systems. May engineer, plan, schedule and install simple to complex electrical and mechanical equipment/systems. Provides work direction, training, and coaching to other Service Specialists, including performing and/or coaching in the start-up and check-out of new remotes, I/O equipment, CPU's, and software installation. Conducts effective energy audits and equipment/systems surveys as assigned. Provides technical assistance to sales representatives conducting surveys, providing estimating assistance, provides sales leads to the sales group where such opportunities are identified during the course of service work, and participates in the sales promotion programs. Instructs and/or trains customers or customer representatives on systems maintenance and operating procedures. Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance, and performs work assignments in a safe manner and within specified cost limits. Reports current material/inventory in a responsible manner, and recommends inventory requirements. May coordinate obtaining subcontractor estimates, evaluate bids, and provide recommendations to supervisor. Provide work direction to subcontractor personnel on installations. Maintains company propriety and documentation in accordance with established policies; handles proprietary information in the prescribed manner; adheres to and supports H&BC policies and procedures including all safety requirements. Keeps abreast of changes and new developments in products and technology. Attends and completes training programs as requested. Promotes, builds, and maintains good customer relations and assists in contract retention; informs supervisor of customer needs, requirements, systems status, and actual or potential customer problems. Adheres to H&BC policies and procedures, to include all safety requirements. Supports the attainment of Branch, Area, and H&BC of goals and objectives.Vo-Tech Degree in HVAC control or related mechanical, electrical, security or computer systems, or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry related experience Minimum 4-6 years related mechanical, technical and HVAC experience required Ability to provide technical guidance and support on Honeywell products and services with minimal supervision As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we are committed to a diverse workforce
