Sr. Project Control Engineer/Project Manager
Abencs, a bio-energy Engineering and Construction Company, is seeking a Senior Project Control Engineer to join their growing Project Control Engineering Department.
Project Control Engineer will be responsible for: project control for large industrial construction project, ensuring that all project control activities such as project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management and schedule management are executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements.
KEYDUTIES:Responsible for the development of scope, schedule, budget and estimate to complete data for assigned tasks. Lead in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and development of schedules and budget data (including resource loading) for those WBS elements.Review all subcontractor and vendor change requests for cost and schedule impact.Analyzes unit rates to the extent that corrective action can be taken to minimize project losses and the estimate to complete unit rates is defendable. Assembles and compiles schedule and cost data and inputs into the project control database and provide output to the project team.Lead in managing and maximizing project margins.Advise management of risks that may affect project profit, costs, schedules and client relations.Support the Project Management team in maintaining timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems. Advises Project Management of the cost and schedule impact of proposed design changes.Takes the lead in the development and maintenance of any periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) status reports to keep management and/or owner informed on the project progress. Prepares standard earned value-based reports, including schedule updates, Cost Performance Reports (CPR) and earned value curves.
Sr. Project Control Engineer Qualifications:
BS or MS Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance. 5+ years experience in Project Controls with industrial projects. Technical and practical application of estimating, pricing and costing. Experience reading and interpreting design drawings and developing projected final quantities. Experience performing quantity survey techniques in determining the status of construction. Computer skills include ICARIS, Primavera (P3), and Microsoft applications.
Must have excellent analytical and communication (oral and written) skills.
