Sr. Project Specialist

Main Responsibilities:
· Participate in Inquiry to Order/Order to Requisition handoff
· Assist the Project Engineer in directing and implementing extended scope projects. Provide the continuity to keep the project moving in the absence of the PE.
· Support the timely execution of the Engineering Kick-off meeting.
· Facilitate the development of the Project Deliverables Schedule.
· Expedite the on-time uploading and issuance of project engineering core content documents (Design Memo, Design Basis Document, General & Site Data Specifications)
· Effectively interface with all engineering disciplines for the on-time execution of the project master schedule.
· Focal point for all activities related to the scheduling, receipt, review and return of supplier documentation. Including For Review and Final drawings and O&M manuals.
· Coordinate supplier usage training on the GE web-based collaboration tool (PNET)
· Interface with Sourcing for items within PPE scope. Including issues related to the receipt of supplier documentation and logistics.
· Weekly: Run appropriate deliverables reports (e.g. Bubble, C2); expedite accordingly. Manage the flow and control of project documentation and information including the PPE scope, partner documents required for GE review, and internal PPE correspondence. Monitor all product department customer documentation.
· Active participant in project processes including, but not limited to, design reviews, regular project team meetings, lessons learned, design freeze, customer design and project reviews, PPE project reviews, Early Warning Budget Variance, and all other PPSD ISO-Procedures, PPE Guidelines and Work Instruction.
· Assist in tracking and prioritizing resolution of project action items and critical technical issues.
· Schedule, attend, support project meetings as deemed appropriate by the Project Engineer.
· Receive / disposition Field Change Notifications.
· Monitor drawing holds and provide feedback to Project Engineer.
· Periodically review project PNET site folder structure and securities for discrepancies and discuss with Project Engineer.
· Assist Project Engineer in the development of USS and establishing equipment budgets.
· Assist in the issuing of EWBV's, Lessons Learned and assuring closeout.
· Attend ODM and issue minutes for engineering activities.
· Assure minutes of meetings are issued for engineering meetings and PNET Request for Information are issued to assure action items are tracked.
· Assist Project Engineering in developing and monitoring the Project Budget.
· Assist Project Engineer in preparing for monthly project reviews.
· Perform above described functions within PPE on both OTR projects and on internal projects and initiatives

Back-up Responsibilities:
· PPE Issuing Process: Review specifications and drawings for accuracy as part of the PPE process for issuing project documents of record.
· Maintain Customer Responsiveness (RFI) reports
· Distribute weekly Lessons Learned Report for Project Engineering
· Assist in processing supplier documents though PPE vendor document control (VENDOC) system using designated document control tool when necessary due to high volume
· Support maintenance of the Project Engineering section of the PPSD Reference Library

Education/Experience:
- BS Engineering or in process of working towards a 4 year engineering degree
- 2 years construction experience.
- 5 year's design and/or engineering power plant experience working with a power design AE
- Knowledge of Document Managements systems and workflow
