Position Description:

Reporting in to the EH&S Manager, the Sr. Safety & Health Specialist will provide specialized technical expertise and support for the elimination of hazards and prevention of injuries.  This position will specialize and focus on occupational health and safety.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

§ Occupational Safety & Health program development, maintenance and employee training.Develops company compliance programs, including safety, industrial hygiene, and/or workplace procedures that minimize risks, specify appropriate personal protective equipment and safe work procedures. Serves as the Company’s primary technical expert in the area of safety, industrial hygiene, and/or workplace risk matters.Provides specialized technical expertise and support for the elimination of hazards and prevention of injuries. Will perform employee training, project management, investigation and remediation of contaminated sites.
Tracks regulations and standards. Analyzes and interprets current and proposed laws, regulations and permits to understand the impacts on Company operations. Oversees external contractors/consultants auditing Company facilities and operations for safety, industrial hygiene, and compliance. Participates in the Company’s 24-hour emergency response program.

 

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelors Degree in a related field plus a minimum of 7 years of experience with safety and/or industrial hygiene.   An Associates degree with significant experience may be substituted.  CSP/CIH certification preferred.
