Senior Security Engineer

 Description

 

The Senior Security Engineer manages, maintains and designs the implementation, capacity planning, and optimization of Pro-Build’s network security infrastructure. Position performs technical risk assessments and security exposure analyses of systems, networks and business applications. This role also supports and troubleshoots network and application problems, and coordinates implementations.
Responsibilities

 

·  Manages all phases of project planning in security service support, including functional requirements, design specifications, testing and quality assurance, implementation and support.

·  Maintaining day-to-day operations of enterprise IT security and network hardware.

·  Maintains network security and data protection through monitoring of devices, software authenticity and firewall protection.

·  Provides technical direction in designing and implementing security solutions for corporate technical infrastructure and web applications.

·  Solutions developed will address multiple operating systems security infrastructure issues and strategic needs for user authentication, file/directory protection and integrity, and audit trail analysis.

·  Investigates and evaluates information security technologies and defines mitigating controls that will appropriately secure environment.

·  Monitors, reports and resolves all security related problems and discrepancies.

·  Identifies security exposures and recommends controls for new or changing technologies and systems.

·  Interacts with internal and external clients on security requirements, identifies security process and develops strategies/solutions to security issues while maintaining tight security discipline.
Position Requirements

 

·  BA/BS degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.

·  Training courses, seminars, certifications or other security related education experience preferred.

·  CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Certified Professional), SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) preferred.

·  Must have 5+ years UNIX systems and / or 5+ years Windows and Active Directory administration experience with minimum 3 years information security experience.

·  Must have 2+ years experience with networking, intrusion detection, VPN, PKI, Checkpoint and PIX firewalls, CISCO; NAC; Identity management and encryption technologies.

·  Experience in product evaluation and managing vendor relationships required.

·  Experience in defining Information Security strategy and integrating security technologies into corporate frameworks.

·  Must possess an understanding of multiple operating systems, directory structures and databases, how they relate to each other and associated security implications.

·  Must be familiar with and able to apply time proven generally accepted security methods, concepts and techniques.

·  Knowledge of monitoring and surveillance techniques in order to measure the security functions and identifies violations required.

·  Excellent interpersonal communication, project management and leadership skills.

·  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

 Work Conditions

 On-call availability. Sitting for extended periods of time.Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and to handle other computer components.
