Technical Services - Mainland/Caribbean Lead

Dick Corporation is seeking to fill the following position in Pittsburgh, PA

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide oversight to Technical Services Pittsburgh team and hands on support for the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of the Information Technology infrastructure and end user services in the mainland/Caribbean regions under direction of the Technical Services Lead.

 

The position will report to the Technical Services Lead, dotted line to IS Director. 



RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  Oversee the work activities of the Pittsburgh Technical Services team to ensure that end user requests and issues are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.  Also ensure the operation is in accordance with the established company-wide procedures and practices. 

2.  Provide the support and optimization of mainland/Caribbean region servers and local and wide area networks.

3.  Maintain an efficient system for deploying software and hardware

4.  Maintain an efficient and effective system for deploying security patches and anti-virus software

5.  Maintain documentation on network and system configuration and setup

6.  Provide hands-on technical coordination of Information Technology projects while ensuring that the project requirements and timelines are met.

7.  Maintain awareness of latest software, hardware and communication technological advances.  Suggest or recommend cost effective enhancements as necessary.

8.  Implement standards and guidelines consistent with the needs of Dick Corporation personnel and the technology being used.  Monitor to assure standards are being properly utilized.

9.  Communicate and interface with other groups and users to insure needs are being met and user awareness of any visible changes. 

 

10.  Configure and install hardware and software on corporate and remote site networks as needed. Provide trouble-shooting to resolve hardware, software or communications problems on personal computers, networks and related equipment as needed.

11.  Conduct performance reviews of Pittsburgh Technical Services staff.

 

12.  Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

 



SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:

 

Educational and experience requirements include: Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Information Management or equivalent experience.  Extensive knowledge and understanding of personal computing infrastructure and operations functions.  Microsoft certifications are an advantage.  A thorough knowledge of outside vendor hardware and software components required to support both LANs and WANs is required. Organizational, interpersonal, problem resolution and management, customer service, and strong verbal and written communication skills are vital. 

 

COMMENTS:The duties and responsibilities of this position require some overtime and off-hours work from time to time.  Travel may be required.
