Accountabilities
Project Management of engineering design of new wastewater system construction
Plans, directs, supervises, and controls the execution of all business, technical, fiscal, and administration functions of the assigned project.
Acts as the company representative with the client, general contractors and subconsultants. Negotiates changes to the scope. Markets and secures additional work with the client..
Implements the Program Management Plan for all areas of the project, reviews and approves deliverables and implements the QA/QC program.
Provides technical guidance to Surveyors, CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, Engineers, Inspectors and Technicians working on the project.
Mentors staff and participates in annual reviews with functional department Managers
Liaises and coordinates with regulatory agencies and municipal bond funding agencies.
Attends client city council meetings and reports on project progress.
Oversees organization of and attends public outreach events
Works closely with client’s contract department, assisting with tendering construction projects, reviewing bids, recommending awards and managing construction contract.
Executes work in accordance with AMEC's established health, safety and environmental policies.
In addition, must be able to manage staff work load; identify and recruit staff, provide leadership and mentoring to staff; work with individuals to grow / develop, and perform annual reviews.
Travel Requirements
Requires the ability to travel and work out of client's location up to 4 days/week, with option for temporary relocation.
Knowledge
BS or MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering with 15 to 20 years of related work experience in municipal wastewater collection and treatment systems.
A combination of detailed engineering design and construction management experience is a plus.
The candidate should exhibit strong technical leadership, project and client management experience
and experience in municipal treatment programs.
Arizona PE registration or ability to obtain such in short order is required.
Candidate should be experienced with engineering and construction cost control, progress reporting, resource planning, scheduling, and commercial management of contracts..
Must have good technical writing and communication skills as well as be independent and resourceful
