Accountant - General/Payroll

One of the largest, privately held real estate homebuilder and developers in Central Florida (office is in Lakeland)  is looking for someone with experience in general accounting, payroll, insurance, and human resources.

 

 

Responsibilities of job are as follows: General bookkeeping and project accounting to include accounts payable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. Coordinate and process all payroll on bi-weekly basis to third party payroll company (such as ADP). Calculate commissions and bonuses on bi-weekly basis. Administer employee benefits; including insurance policy updates/changes, procure and determine annual benefit packages Administer personnel policies and practices and compliance with ERISA, OSHA, and general business practices. Manage and update all employee files. Manage the updates and delivery of the Employee Handbooks as needed Manage and coordinate annual property and general liability insurance policies. Update monthly builder’s risk insurance reporting and billing for homes under construction.


To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting,  Business, or related field Two to four years previous accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and ability to manage multiple projects Understanding of benefit regulations and policies is a plus Bookkeeping functions are a must. Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Experience in working in accounting system such as Quickbooks, Peachtree, Solomon, Yardi, etc. Effective communication and customer service skills are essential to this position
